Industry Beginnings
Our founders began a career supplying tungsten oxides and powders to tungsten manufacturers across Ontario, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Alabama, and Michigan.
2010
Establishment of Howard Alloy Inc.
Howard Alloy Inc. was established to supply tungsten wear parts, hardfacing powders, and thermal spray powders to the North American oil and gas industry. Alongside standard grades, the company offered customized powder solutions tailored to customers’ specific applications and project requirements.
2018
Expansion into New Industries
Howard Alloy expanded its portfolio to include wear-resistant coated components and tungsten carbide brazed cutting tools for the plastics, forestry, and recycling industries. The introduction of surface-treated carbide inserts improved bonding to substrates and enhanced cutting performance.
2022
Introduction of Toll Processing Services
Howard Alloy introduced toll processing recycling services, converting tungsten-bearing sludge and spent catalyst scrap into tungsten oxide. These services help customers recover valuable tungsten, reduce industrial waste, and return secondary materials to the supply chain.
2025
Expansion into Additive Manufacturing and Powder Metallurgy
Howard Alloy expanded its powder portfolio through a strategic partnership with a South Korean manufacturer, bringing North American customers a broader range of materials for additive manufacturing and powder metallurgy. This expansion supports applications across aerospace, automotive, medical devices, energy, electronics, and industrial tooling.
